Manage account closing for month-end, year-end, and support internal/external audit process:
👉Prepare month-end checklist with assigned team members, timeline, and send it to relevant stakeholders.
👉Manage month-end closing by target timelines:actively & closely monitor the team members’ task list to make sure that they are completed on time.
👉Review team members’ booking entries to make sure these transactions are accurately recorded, well documented & explained.
👉Coordinate with other departments for smooth closing and actively discuss appropriate solutions.
👉Summarize findings during book closing and coach team members for improvements.
👉Oversee reconciliations of general ledger accounts: expenditures, intercompany transactions, and premium/claim-related balances.
👉Arrange regular meetings to reflect on results and lessons learned.
👉Prepare monthly Trial Balance on time, send to relevant stakeholders and play the key role to explain transaction booking when being asked.
Take charge of balance sheet reconciliation (BSR):
👉Arrange team members to support audit process.
👉Ensure requested data is provided to auditor on time.
👉Respond to audit inquiries and draft management response.
👉Play the key role in accounting team to deal with audit issues and actively update the status of audit progress.
Finance Transformation:
👉Drive process optimization and automation initiatives.
👉Support data inputs for IFRS17 project.
Payment Process and Risk Awareness:
👉Ensure payment/settlement process is smoothly done within turn-around-time (TAT) and maintain proper bookkeeping.
👉Review team members payment preparation and record keeping.
👉Ensure all payments are correctly paid and are in line with the company’s policies.
👉Participating in annual review of policies and guidelines.
👉Alert the line manager or department head on the suspicious cases.
Team Leadership & Development:
👉Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring continuous development and adherence to best practices.
👉Foster cross-functional collaboration with actuarial, operations, distribution channel and compliance teams.
👉Arrange refresher training on policies/procedures.
👉Provide coaching to team members & execute members’ job rotation to make sure development and back-up.
